Joint Replacement Procedures
New Milford Hospital offers hip and knee replacement by board-certified orthopedic specialists. Our goal is to restore full mobility. Our program provides the full continuum of joint replacement care. Comprehensive pain management services are provided by an interdisciplinary team led by board-certified anesthesiologists. Also on our team are nurses, technicians and rehabilitation professionals who provide the education, care and support necessary for successful recovery.
We offer pre-operative education and orientation so you will know what to expect before, during and after your joint replacement procedure. We’ll help you plan for the necessary support to help you recover rapidly and return to your normal life; we encourage you to play an active role in your recovery. We are committed to making your treatment an experience that meets or exceeds your expectations.
Joint replacement procedures we offer include:
- Total knee replacement: Replacement of the top, bottom and underside of the knee cap. This is the most common total joint replacement surgery and has been the gold standard for treatment of the severely arthritic knee.
- Knee resurfacing also known as Partial Knee Replacement: A revolutionary type of knee replacement that replaces an arthritic knee joint while preserving more bone than is typically done, which may be appropriate for younger patients as an alternative to a traditional knee replacement.
- Total hip replacement: This provide complete or nearly complete pain relief in 95-98% of patients, most of whom regain near-normal motion.
