New Milford Hospital’s Nutrition Center offers individualized medical nutrition therapy, as well as group classes for diabetes education.
Individualized Nutrition Counseling
Our registered dietitians offer individualized one-on-one medical nutrition therapy for people of all ages, pediatric and adult. Services are available by appointment, Monday through Friday.
Through counseling, you can learn how to:
- Make better food choices
- Change your eating habits through behavioral strategies
- Prepare foods and modify recipes
- Read food labels and shop for food
- Plan meals and dining out options
- Learn stress management techniques
Insurance coverage varies, and preauthorization is recommended. Medicare currently covers nutrition services for diabetes and certain kidney conditions.
Diabetes Education Classes
New Milford Hospital offers an outpatient diabetes self-management education program, including specific diabetes-related nutrition counseling, plus other services to support your good health. Classes are a series of 3 sessions from 9:30am – 11:00am, held at New Milford Hospital.
