Families Invited to Eat Smart, Play Hard, Have Fun!

New Milford Hospital invites families to participate in an innovative wellness program, “Eat Smart, Play Hard, Have Fun” starting July 11th. Taught by a team of dietitians, exercise specialists and other health experts, this program is for any family that wants to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Throughout the eight-week program families will receive nutrition education on the MyPlate guidelines, building healthy meals, smart ideas for snacks, breakfast, eating out and an individual meal plan for each child. There is also a cooking demonstration and tasting.

Exercise classes focus on the basics of getting active, proper stretching and heart rate monitoring and a boot camp session. Classes also discuss stress management and thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how this relates to overall health and well-being.

The Eat Smart, Play Hard, Have Fun program will be held Wednesday evenings from 6:30 until 8p.m., July 10th through August 21st and take place at special indoor and outdoor locations throughout New Milford.
