New Milford Hospital to Provide Free Skin Cancer Screening

The Diebold Family Cancer Center at New Milford Hospital will host a free skin cancer screening on Saturday, July 27 from 9 am to noon (BY APPOINTMENT ONLY). The screenings will be provided by physicians from Dermatology Associates of Western Connecticut. The public is invited and encouraged to take advantage of this free screening. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 1-800-350-1595.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, over 2 million Americans develop skin cancer each year and 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Skin cancer is the most prevalent of all cancers, but fortunately skin cancers are relatively easy to detect and most can be cured. Even malignant melanoma, if caught in its early stages, can be treated successfully.
