All employees who are required to work on a legal holiday listed above shall receive premium pay for working the holiday plus a compensatory day off with pay.
Bereavement Leave
Up to three (3) scheduled work days off from the date of the death through the date of the funeral for time lost to make funeral arrangements and/or attend the funeral of an immediate family member (parent or guardian, grandparent, parent-in-law, spouse, sister, brother, child and grandchild, sons and daughters-in-law).
Jury Duty
Hospital pays employee for time lost from work due to jury duty; employee turns in jury pay when received from court.
Health Insurance
Hospital pays a significant portion of the cost of single, two-person, or family coverage for full time employees. Pro-rated benefits for employees who work at least 24 hours per week. Opt-out provision with cash payments for employees who do not require coverage.
Dental Insurance
Hospital pays a significant portion of the cost for coverage (single, two-person, or family) for employees who work at least 32 hours per week, as well as (single only) for employees who work at least 24 hours per week. All coverage includes orthodontia benefits. Opt-out provision with cash payments for employees who do not require coverage.
Life Insurance
Hospital pays full cost of life and AD&D insurance at one times employee's annual salary for employees who work at least 24 hours per week. Employee can opt down to a minimum of $10,000 life insurance or opt up to one and one-half, two, or three times the employee's annual salary.
Long Term Disability
For employees who work at least 27 hours per week and who become totally and permanently disabled. Coverage begins after a 26 week waiting period. Benefit levels are 50% to a maximum of $5,000 per month.
Flexible Benefit Plan
Allows employees to use before-tax dollars to pay for employer sponsored health, life, or dental insurance plans, out of pocket health care expenses, or dependent care expenses.
Employee Health Program
Free employment physical and lab work. Annual TB screening. Health hazard exposure screening in high-risk areas. Free emergency treatment for on-duty illness or injury.
Leaves of Absence
Medical, maternity and family leaves available in compliance with the Family & Medical Leave Act. Military, educational, personal, and other special unpaid leaves may be granted.
Pension
Hospital pays the full cost of a defined benefit pension plan which promises you a specified monthly benefit at retirement based on your final average earnings and years of credited service. The plan has five year vesting. Normal retirement is age 65; however, early retirement and disability retirement provisions are in the plan. Employees enrolled in our pension plan are also eligible for matching funds toward the tax-sheltered annuity of their choice.
Tax Deferred Income
The hospital participates in several tax sheltered annuity programs that allow employees to contribute toward their retirement through payroll deduction. Minimum contribution of $20 per pay period and a maximum in accordance with federal tax laws.
Continuing Education
- Inservice orientation training to all new employees.
- Ongoing in-house training on new equipment and procedures.
- Special training when advances in medical care require that skills be updated.
- Tuition reimbursement at an accredited educational institution.
- Reimbursement for employees to attend seminars and workshops.
Other
Paid breaks, shift differentials, weekend pay, free parking, hospital sponsored social activities, employee assistance program.
