Anti-Nausea/Pain Management
Pain Management - the Cancer Center staff recognize that pain exists whenever the patient says it does. As with other aspects of cancer care, pain is evaluated with each individual patient. Your nurse and physician will assess your pain status with each visit and if needed, prescribe medication tailored to your needs.
Anti-Nausea - many advances have been made to reduce the incidence of nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. Following the latest recommendations, we have developed an anti-nausea treatment plan based on the type of chemotherapy drug the patient has received.
Nutritional Support
Nutrition counseling is available at the Ambulatory Oncology Center at New Milford Hospital.
Complementary Care
In addition to conventional medical treatment, the Regional Cancer Center physicians and nurses are open to complementary care that patients wish to explore. Complementary and alternative medicine is the most commonly used phrase to describe medical therapies practiced outside conventional Western medicine. It contains a variety of healing philosophies and medical practices.
We provide the following complementary activities:
 |
Chair yoga
Healing Drum Circle
Reiki
Guided Imagery |
"Look Good, Feel Better"
"I Can Cope" Program
Supports groups |
Our Pastoral Care Department provides a monthly healing service in the hospital's non-denominational chapel.
