Dear Student, Thank you for your interest in the New Milford Hospital EMT training course. The EMT program is a very challenging yet rewarding program. As a student you’ll learn the basic skills needed to intervene in emergencies and to be an intricate part of the Emergency Medical System. To be successful in the course, you must be dedicated to reading materials, completing written work, doing quizzes and performing clinical rotations. A significant amount of time and dedication is needed; however, the instructors are committed to giving every student an opportunity to succeed. We are all teaching the skills of the profession we love. It is our hope each student finds the same passion we have for emergency medical services through this class. Remember, this is a class that will not only prepare you for testing for the CT and NREMT Exams but also prepare those who want to volunteer or gain employment as a firefighter, emergency care technician at a hospital or EMT on an Ambulance. The EMT class is also for those individuals who are planning to obtain a higher level of medical training such as Paramedic, RN, PA or MD as an enhancement for the competitive application process for those professions. During your class, you will gain the knowledge, skills, attitudes and critical thinking that are necessary to be a valuable part of the EMS System.
