NEW MILFORD, Connecticut – February 18, 2016 - New Milford Hospital announces the next series of monthly Community Speakers Series presented in partnership with the Plow-to-Plate Senior Suppers. The educational and socially-oriented programs will be held on the second Wednesday of each month beginning Wednesday, March 9, 2016. The programs are free and take place at New Milford Hospital in the Robison Conference Rooms starting at 6 p.m.
The Community Speaker Series at New Milford Hospital features special presentations by famous local authors, health and wellness experts, and entertainers.
Programming dates through June are as follows:
- March 9th – Edmund Morris, New York City/Connecticut author of The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt, Dutch: A Memoir of Ronald Reagan, Theodore Rex, and Beethoven: The Universal Composer.
- April 13th – Robert Steele, Connecticut author of The Curse, a fact-based novel set against the explosion of casino gambling in Connecticut during the 1990s.
- May 11th – Nutrition and Cancer Prevention by Michele MacDonell, Registered Dietitian and Cynthia Tyler, RN/Cancer Navigator
- June 8th – Peter Vermilyea, Connecticut author of Hidden History of Litchfield County (2015 CultureMax Award from the Northwest Connecticut Arts Council).
