Wound Care Services

In a healthy body, wounds heal easily and naturally – but that may not happen for people with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease or cancer, or who are simply aging. Their wounds may be slow to heal, resistant to standard therapies and prone to infection. These difficult-to-heal wounds require the specialized treatment of a wound center.

Examples of wounds we treat include

  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Lower leg ulcers
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Bone infections (osteomyelitis)
  • Soft-tissue infections
  • Radiation injury
  • Post-surgical wound delayed healing
  • Non-healing traumatic wounds

Assessment

Here at Danbury Hospital’s Morganti Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, our first step in care is always a comprehensive wound care assessment, which consists of a medical examination and vascular assessment. Our expert staff will design a wound-healing treatment plan that is tailored to your needs.
